The careers that stem from knowing about Earth are diverse and numerous. I work to convey this idea to my students. The teaching of Earth Science is a chance to help all types of learners think both creatively and analytically, no matter the career paths they choose. I did not discover geology until after college. I hope my students get the chance to consider it sooner.

Many individuals consider ES a study of rocks, mountains & volcanoes. Growing up in New Orleans, where there are no rocks except those we purchase from other States, reinforces that limited perspective.
I enjoy expanding the knowledge base of students & educators to include ocean, atmosphere & our native challenges with our wetlands/coastlines
